CR2 Security Group Renews Real Living Wage Membership: Putting Fair Pay at the Heart of Security

CR2 Security Group is proud to announce the renewal of its membership with the Living Wage Foundation, reaffirming our commitment to fair pay, responsible employment and high standards across the security industry.

For us, paying a real Living Wage isn't simply about meeting a benchmark. It's about recognising the people who make our business successful and making sure that a career in security provides a fair and sustainable income.

We're particularly proud that 100% of CR2 Security Group employees are paid at or above the real Living Wage.

What is the Real Living Wage?

The Real Living Wage is a voluntary wage rate calculated independently according to the actual cost of living in the UK. Unlike the Government's National Living Wage, which is a statutory minimum, the real Living Wage is designed around what people need to cover everyday living costs.

For 2025–26, the real Living Wage is £13.45 per hour across the UK and £14.80 per hour in London. The rates are reviewed annually, helping employers respond to changes in the cost of living.

The Living Wage Foundation now has almost 17,000 accredited employers, with around 490,000 workers receiving pay rises as a result of the Living Wage movement.

For CR2 Security Group, being part of that movement is something we're proud of.

Why the Real Living Wage Matters to Our Employees

Security is a people-focused industry. Our employees are responsible for protecting people, premises, businesses and assets, often working demanding shifts and taking on significant responsibility.

We believe that responsibility should be properly recognised.

Paying the real Living Wage gives our employees greater confidence that their work is providing an income that reflects the cost of everyday life. It also demonstrates that we value their contribution and want CR2 to be a place where people can build a long-term career.

100% of our employees are on or above the real Living Wage.

That's an important commitment because fair pay isn't just about attracting people to a business. It's about retaining experienced employees, recognising hard work and creating a culture where people feel valued.

The Living Wage Foundation also highlights that accreditation provides employees with a clear indication that their employer has committed to paying the independently calculated real Living Wage.

Why Real Living Wage Membership Matters to Our Clients

For our clients, choosing a security provider isn't simply about finding someone who can provide guards or security personnel. It's about choosing a responsible, reliable organisation that reflects the standards and values of their own business.

CR2 Security Group's Real Living Wage commitment provides another reason for clients to have confidence in the people delivering their security services.

When businesses outsource security, they are also making decisions about the employment conditions of the people delivering that service. Working with a company committed to fair pay can therefore form an important part of responsible procurement and wider ESG and corporate social responsibility objectives.

For organisations with their own ethical procurement policies, sustainability commitments or supplier standards, partnering with a Living Wage employer can help ensure that responsible employment practices extend through their supply chain.

The Living Wage Foundation specifically provides guidance around implementing the Living Wage through procurement, helping accredited organisations incorporate fair-pay principles into their supplier relationships.

Fair Pay and Better Security Services

We also believe there is a practical business benefit to investing in our people.

Security is ultimately about people. Experienced, motivated and valued employees are fundamental to delivering consistent standards of service.

By committing to fair pay, CR2 Security Group aims to attract and retain people who take pride in their work and in the service they provide to clients.

That can mean greater continuity, stronger relationships between security teams and clients, and employees who feel that their contribution is genuinely appreciated.

The Living Wage Foundation points to a growing body of evidence around the business benefits of becoming a Living Wage Employer, alongside the wider social benefits of ensuring people are paid a wage that reflects the cost of living.

A Commitment That Goes Beyond the Legal Minimum

The real Living Wage is voluntary. Employers don't have to pay it.

That's what makes the commitment meaningful.

The Government's National Living Wage is the legal minimum for eligible workers, whereas the real Living Wage is independently calculated according to the cost of living and is intended to provide a higher benchmark for responsible employers.

At CR2 Security Group, we believe that doing the right thing shouldn't stop at what is legally required.

Our renewal of Living Wage Foundation membership is a public commitment to continuing to put our employees first and maintaining high standards as we grow.

Supporting People, Clients and the Wider Community

The Living Wage movement is about more than individual businesses. It brings together thousands of employers who believe that people should be able to earn enough to meet their everyday needs.

By renewing our membership, CR2 Security Group is proud to play its part.

We want our employees to know that their work is valued. We want our clients to know that they are partnering with a responsible security provider. And we want to contribute positively to an industry where good employment practices and high-quality security services go hand in hand.

100% of our employees are paid at or above the real Living Wage, and we're proud to continue that commitment.

Choosing a Security Partner That Shares Your Values

If you're looking for a security company that combines professional security services with responsible employment practices, CR2 Security Group can help.

Our Real Living Wage commitment is just one part of our wider approach to delivering a professional, people-focused security service for our clients.

Fair pay. Valued people. Professional security.

That's the standard we believe in at CR2 Security Group.
