Three approved security activities. A 33-point improvement from last year. One exceptional achievement for CR2 Security Group.
Three approved security activities. A 33-point improvement. A score just shy of triple figures. One exceptional achievement for CR2 Security Group.
CR2 Security Group is delighted to announce an outstanding result following our latest full-scope Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) audit.
Not only have we successfully retained our prestigious SIA Approved Contractor status, but we have also expanded our approval to cover three regulated security activities: Keyholding, Security Guarding and Door Supervision.
Even more impressively, we achieved a 33-point increase on our previous year's audit score.
For an independently owned security company established in 2022, this represents an exceptional achievement and reflects the enormous amount of work, investment and commitment that has gone into building CR2 Security Group.
But to truly appreciate the significance of this achievement, it is important to understand what the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme actually represents.
The Security Industry Authority is the statutory regulator responsible for regulating the private security industry in the United Kingdom.
Its Approved Contractor Scheme is a voluntary quality assurance scheme designed to assess security businesses against recognised standards of operational performance, management, leadership and service delivery.
Unlike simply holding an SIA licence, which is a requirement for individuals undertaking certain licensable security activities, achieving ACS approval requires a security company to demonstrate that its business operates to an independently assessed standard.
The assessment examines multiple aspects of how a security organisation operates, including:
Achieving approval is not simply about having policies and procedures written down.
It is about demonstrating that those systems are embedded within the organisation, effectively managed and consistently applied throughout day-to-day operations.
In other words, it is about proving that a security company does what it says it does.
The UK private security industry consists of thousands of businesses, ranging from small local providers to major national and international organisations.
However, only a relatively small proportion of those businesses hold SIA Approved Contractor status.
This makes ACS approval an important distinction for customers looking to identify professional, independently assessed security providers.
For CR2 Security Group, the achievement goes considerably further than simply retaining an existing accreditation.
We have increased our audit score by 33 points in just 12 months.
That is a substantial improvement within an assessment framework designed to scrutinise the quality and effectiveness of a security company's management systems and operational practices.
An increase of this magnitude does not happen by accident.
It requires measurable progress, strong leadership, effective management, investment in employees and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
Achieving a score just shy of triple figures demonstrates how far our business has developed and the increasingly mature systems supporting our operations.
Importantly, the ACS scoring framework is not a percentage-based system. Our result reflects our assessed performance against the scheme's requirements rather than a percentage pass mark.
For a business that celebrated its fourth anniversary in August 2026, we believe this is an achievement worth recognising.
Another major milestone from this year's assessment is the expansion of our ACS approval.
Previously approved for Door Supervision, CR2 Security Group is now approved across three activities:
Our keyholding and alarm response services support commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare and residential customers across Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire.
From responding to intruder alarms to securing premises following an incident, our mobile security teams provide a professional, accountable and dependable service.
Our security guarding operations protect people, premises and assets across a wide range of environments, including educational establishments, commercial premises, industrial facilities, construction sites and corporate locations.
Our door supervision teams support licensed premises, the night-time economy, public events and major festivals, delivering professional security, public safety, safeguarding and crowd management.
Securing approval across all three activities demonstrates that our independently assessed management and operational arrangements support a much broader range of security services.
For our customers, it provides additional reassurance that they are working with a company committed to recognised standards across its principal areas of operation.
We believe customers should expect more from their security provider than simply having somebody turn up to a shift or respond to an alarm.
Security is fundamentally about trust.
Customers entrust security companies with their buildings, employees, visitors, assets, confidential information and, in many cases, the safety of vulnerable people.
That responsibility should never be taken lightly.
Our latest ACS assessment provides further independent assurance of our commitment to:
Professionalism and accountability: Structured operational management, documented procedures and clear lines of responsibility.
Competent and appropriately screened personnel: Robust recruitment, BS7858 screening where applicable, appropriate SIA licensing and ongoing staff development.
Consistent service delivery: Established operating procedures, management oversight, performance monitoring and clear customer reporting.
Customer confidence: A focus on communication, responsiveness, service reviews and continuous improvement.
Responsible business practices: A commitment to lawful employment, PAYE-based staffing, employee welfare and long-term business sustainability.
For organisations procuring security services, these are not simply additional benefits. They are important considerations when choosing a provider entrusted with protecting people and property.
One of the most important aspects of our achievement is that it reflects the work carried out throughout the year, not simply the preparations made in the weeks leading up to an assessment.
At CR2 Security Group, we have invested significantly in developing our management structure, operational processes, compliance systems and employee development.
As our business has grown, so too has the importance of ensuring that our systems remain effective, accountable and scalable.
From our mobile security operations and frontline guarding teams to our office-based management, scheduling and compliance functions, every part of the organisation has a role to play.
Our approach is supported by a growing portfolio of external accreditations and memberships, including:
These demonstrate different aspects of our commitment to quality, responsible business practices and continuous improvement.
However, accreditations alone do not make a great security company.
It is the people behind them, and the standards they deliver every single day, that make the real difference.
When CR2 Security Group was established in 2022, our ambition was never simply to become another security company.
We wanted to build an organisation that challenged some of the practices too often associated with the private security industry.
An organisation that invested in its employees, valued its customers, operated transparently and placed compliance at the heart of its business.
As a veteran-owned, independently operated business, those principles remain fundamental to how we work.
In just over four years, we have developed from a new business into an established security provider supporting customers across multiple counties, employing over 100 people and delivering services across a diverse range of sectors.
That growth has brought significant responsibilities.
We have had to continually improve how we recruit, train, supervise, manage and support our employees, while maintaining the quality of service our customers expect.
Our latest ACS result is an important indication of the progress we have made.
Growing a business is one achievement. Growing a business while substantially improving its independently assessed standards is another.
And that is something we are particularly proud of.
This achievement belongs to every member of CR2 Security Group.
From our frontline security officers working nights, weekends and public holidays to our supervisors, operations managers, office staff and leadership team, everyone has contributed to the standards we have achieved.
We would also like to thank our customers for their continued trust and support.
Their feedback, expectations and confidence in our services play an important role in helping us develop and improve.
We are incredibly proud of this result, but we also recognise that maintaining high standards requires continuous effort.
The objective is not simply to achieve an impressive audit score.
The objective is to ensure that the standards demonstrated during an audit are reflected in every deployment, every patrol, every alarm response and every interaction with our customers.
With our expanded ACS approval, continued ISO 9001 certification and growing operational capabilities, CR2 Security Group is in a strong position to continue developing its services across Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire and the wider South West.
We will continue investing in our employees, strengthening our management systems and improving the services we provide.
A 33-point improvement is a remarkable milestone, but it is not the finish line.
It is further evidence of what can be achieved when a business genuinely commits to doing things properly.
